When you think of a small-town hospital, you might not expect to find an extensive group of credentialed surgeons or a surgical robot. At Hammond-Henry Hospital, we aim to exceed your expectations. Our comprehensive group of surgeons and our knowledgeable staff offer medical excellence close to home with kind, compassionate care.
The group of surgeons practicing at Hammond-Henry Hospital are credentialed by national boards and monitored for quality outcomes. Their extensive knowledge provides a wide range of specialties to our communities. Meet the surgeons
The surgical team at Hammond-Henry Hospital strives for excellence in all areas of patient care. We understand that surgical procedures can be stressful for patients and their families. It is our goal to provide support, compassion and proper education before, during and after surgical procedures to reduce these fears. Our surgical team works closely with other hospital departments to ensure the best possible outcome during surgical procedures and into the patient’s transition home. Within our staff, six of our OR personnel have advanced certification: Certified Nurse of OR, Certified Scrub Tech, Central Process Department Certified.
Caleb Nash, a Geneseo student, submitted the winning name in the ‘Name the Robot’ contest hosted by the Hammond-Henry Hospital surgical department. Nash named the department’s da Vinci® robotic surgical system, ‘Hammy’.
da Vinci® Robotic System:
The da Vinci® Robotic System, also known as “Hammy”, utilizes robotic, computer and optical technologies to assist surgeons with operations. The movements of the system are controlled by the surgeon, who sits at a console in the same room. Its three-dimensional high-definition vision system, special instruments, and computer software allow the surgeon to operate with enhanced vision, precision, dexterity, and control.
