FROM BECKER'S HOSPITAL REVIEW

Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo was awarded CMS' "5-Star" rating for cleanliness. Only 12 Illinois critical access hospitals received this rating. CMS' patient survey (HCAHPS)-hospital database listed hospital ratings based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys. This is a national, standardized survey of hospital patients about their experience during a recent inpatient hospital stay. The surveys were completed on September 30, 2025. In May 2026, 396 hospitals were awarded five stars for cleanliness, but in August 2026, 15 fewer hospitals attained the five star rating.

Other Illinois hospitals included Carle Hoopeston Regional Care Center, Hoopeston; Deaconness Illinois Crossroads, Mount Vernon; Memorial Hospital, Carthage; Midwest Medical Center, Galena; City of Hope Cancer Center, Zion; OSF Saint Clare Medical Center, Princeton; Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud; St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro; Taylorville Memorial Hospital, Taylorville; Valley West Community Hospital, Sandwich; and Wabash General Hospital, Mount Carmel.
