Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are set at staff discretion as your condition permits.

 

Even though Hammond-Henry Hospital has a flexible visiting schedule, the main entrance is locked at 8 p.m. and reopened again at 6 a.m. If it is necessary to visit between those hours, visitors should use the emergency department entrance on the north side of the building.

 

To safeguard our patients, people with colds, sore throats or any infectious disease should not visit patients. Visitors should avoid unnecessary noise and be considerate of other patients. Overnight accommodations for visitors can be made as a patient’s condition permits.

 

ATM

An ATM is located at the East entrance to the hospital.

 

Mail

Letters and packages are delivered daily to patient rooms. Items arriving after your discharge will be forwarded to your home. Outgoing mail may be left at the nurses’ station or given to a volunteer.

 

Internet Access

Free wireless Internet service is provided throughout the facility. You and your family members are encouraged to utilize your mobile devices  to stay in touch with family and friends during your stay. You can also access a wealth of knowledge through the Internet. Your doctor and nurse can help you locate various sources of information regarding your illness or injury.

 

Cell Phones

Cell phones may be used throughout the facility, except in rare instances. Staff will notify you in such cases that cell phones would interfere with medical equipment. Please be considerate of others when using your cell phone.

Charging stations for your phone or other devices are available in the third floor waiting room and the Emergency Department waiting room.

 

Shuttle Service

The Hammond-Henry Hospital Volunteers operates a shuttle service in the north parking lot for our visitors and customers to provide easier access to the hospital, clinics and/or physician offices. The shuttle operates 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

Wheelchairs and Scooter

For individuals with mobility problems, wheelchairs and motorized scooters are available for visitors to use. They are located at the main and east entrances.

 

Gift Shop

The gift shop, operated by the Hammond-Henry Hospital Auxiliary, is located in the main hallway across from the dining room. The gift shop offers a variety of items such as jewelry, candy, greeting cards, stuffed animals, and gift items. Gifts and flowers may also be ordered by calling the Gift Shop at 944-9129. Gift Shop hours are: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

 

Flowers

Fresh flowers are available in a cooler in the main lobby. You may pay for flowers in the Gift Shop or money may be put in an envelope in the metal drop box on the side of the cooler.

 

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is located on first floor and is open daily. Visitors are welcome.

Breakfast:       6: a.m. –   10 a.m.

Lunch:       11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Dinner:       4:30 p.m. –      6 p.m.

Meal trays for guests can also be delivered to your room. If you would like a guest tray, ask your nurse or call extension 1401.

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located in the imaging/laboratory waiting area and are available 24-hours a day.


Pastoral Care Services

If you are in need of pastoral care services, ask your nurse for assistance. If you have a local church affiliation or prefer a clergy member of your choice or denomination, please inform your nurse and every effort will be made to locate the appropriate clergy. You can also contact social services at extension 1470 or 944-9170 for more information. We have a volunteer chaplain on call 24 hours.

 

Interpreters/Sign Language

The hospital participates in a foreign language interpreter line service and a sign language interpretation service. Please contact social services or your nurse if you require these services.

 

Smoking Cessation

Social services can provide information on smoking cessation. Please contact your nurse, if you would like more information.

 

Community Education

If you or a family member wishes to learn CPR and/or how to use an automated external defibrillator, please contact our education department at 944-9133.
