Geneseo Police Department raises funds for Women's Health Services at Hammond-Henry Hospital
For the eighth year in a row, the Geneseo Police Department is supporting Women’s Health Services at Hammond-Henry Hospital! This all began in 2018, when GPD Chief Casey Disterhoft heard that other departments in the country were wearing pink patches for breast cancer awareness during the month of October. In that moment, a plan was conceived. Pink patches were sold the first year. T-shirts, masks, and stainless-steel tumblers are a few of the items sold since.
This year, thanks to two anonymous donors, two quarter cows including processing (approximately a $1,500 value each) will be raffled with the goal of raising funds and awareness. There is a third-place prize of a Geneseo gift basket. The drawing will be held November 7. The funds raised over the past years have totaled more than $14,600. These funds are given to the Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation to be used to benefit the Women’s Health Services in the Imaging Department. Some of the items purchased using these funds include a stretcher used in ultrasound for obstetrics and gynecology exams, a mammography chair, and a radiology positioning device.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase this Saturday, October 4 at State Street Market, or may be purchased by visiting the Geneseo Police Department located at 119 S. Oakwood Avenue in Geneseo. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20. For more information, please contact: Casey Disterhoft, Chief of Police, Geneseo Police Department, at 309-944-5141.
