Job Description
Respiratory Therapists (RTs) are health care professionals responsible for the care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. The scope of practice crosses all patient age populations at Hammond Henry Hospital. This may include the following settings: Short term acute care/hospital, Emergency, Sleep lab, Pulmonary function testing. The RTs execute orders directed by licensed independent practitioners (e.g., physicians and, advanced practice clinicians such as physician assistants, nurse practitioners) determined by Illinois licensure laws. The RT practice focuses on: Patients across the age spectrum. Direct/indirect patient observation to include signs, symptoms, and reactions to therapeutic and diagnostic interventions. Monitoring of clinical and behavioral responses to respiratory care therapeutic and diagnostic interventions. Implementation of Hospital cardiopulmonary procedures, medical technology, diagnostic procedures, disease prevention, treatment management, and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Qualifications
- Current license from the state of Illinois as Respiratory Care Practitioner or RRT
- Current BLS certification required, ACLS and PALs within 6 months of hire.
