The picture below shows what's left of the "original" hospital building.  We say "about 1907" because it may be part of the original 1901 building that was purchased to start the hospital or the later addition.  At this point, it doesn't really matter, since all we have left from it is a pile of bricks.  (More below)



Crews will work to remove the tons of rubble next week.  They also need to demolish some of the outdated utility tunnels and make way for new ones.  The biggest current challenge is to pour concrete footings and the foundation for the new kitchen, dining room and health information management departments.  Once set, construction can begin throughout the winter months.
The new operating room is nearly finished and ready for the state health department to grant their blessings.  I would expect us to begin using it sometime in January.
The office building (formerly skilled and extended care) is coming along nicely.  Walls are painted and case work is scheduled for installation next week.  We hope to be complete with the second floor in December.
