The South Service Building is complete, and we await approval from the Illinois Department of Public Health to occupy the building. We have begun to move furniture and equipment, but will need approval before we actually use the space. Our open house is scheduled for Sunday, August 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please enter from the south door, located near the big Caterpillar generator on the south side of the building. We will have a self-guided tour of the building with refreshments to follow.
Once we get approval to move, we will begin to vacate a sizable portion of the existing hospital space. It will then be demolished to make room for the next part of the construction which will tie the existing hospital into the south service building and the long term care building. Demolition is currently underway in the old skilled care/extended care building. It will be quickly transformed into physician office space, dialysis, administration, patient accounts and other offices.
We've also completed the installation of our new MRI- no longer will patients need to go outside and enter a trailer!
