Hammond-Henry Hospital Expands COVID-19 Testing Sites

October 12, 2020

Hammond-Henry Hospital will be transitioning from offering two COVID-19 drive-thru testing sites in Geneseo and Kewanee to offering COVID testing at all six (6) locations and the hospital. The expansion will be in effect as of Monday, October 5, 2020. Since the inception of the drive-thru locations in late March, over 12,000 tests have been administered. “With the weather changing and flu season rapidly approaching, we want to safely and conveniently bring patients with symptoms back into our office and Urgent Care facilities where their illnesses can be more completely evaluated and treated.  We have instituted procedures and policies in all of our clinics to keep our patients and staff safe and able to receive and deliver the excellent care they deserve and expect” states Dr. Donald Ford, who has overseen the drive-thru clinics alongside Katie Sowder APN, since March.

Hours for several of the clinics have returned to pre-COVID times to accommodate schedules of those wishing to be evaluated.  Walk-in care is available at Annawan, Colona, Geneseo, and Kewanee clinics. Hours for the Annawan, Colona, and Kewanee Urgent Care Clinics have changed to 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Saturday. Testing is by appointment at Cambridge and Port Byron clinics.  All offices will be using point of service antigen testing machines so results will be available within 30 minutes.

The COVID Hotline Call Center will remain open to help individuals get the care they need conveniently in the appropriate location. Patients without COVID-19 symptoms who need testing due to pre-surgical testing, employment requirements, COVID-19 exposure, upcoming travel or other reasons, can call 309-944-9198 Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm for prescreen and testing directions. Patients can also call their provider to discuss if a Telehealth, Urgent Care, or in-person appointment is appropriate for the symptoms they are having.
