On Thursday an architect from the Illinois Department of Public Health inspected our new endoscopy suite.  We had two minor changes that needed to be made, and occupancy was granted on Friday, April 15.  We will be working to move our endosocpy procedures to the new area on Monday and Tuesday.  We plan to utilize the suite by Wednesday or Thursday of next week.  That allows us to begin the demolition of the current endoscopy room, making way for the construction of our third operating room.
Meanwhile, we continue to make significant progress in the long term care addition.  Completion is only five weeks away.  the IDPH architect walked through the space as long as he was here surveying the endoscopy suite.  He had a few minor recommendations that have been addressed.  The air handlers were hoisted atop the building on Tuesday with the assistance of a very large crane.  Also, the masonry work continues to circle the building.
The main challenge in the south service building continues to be the delivery and installation of the aquatic therapy pool.  Delivery is scheduled for next week with installation set to begin shortly thereafter.  Once delivered, we can complete the brickwork on the south side of the south service building.
We have our first "public" sneak preview scheduled for the long term care facility.  The Geneseo Chamber of Commerce Spring Breakfast is scheduled for May 4 in the facility's dining room.  It will not be completed, but it's a great opportunity for chamber members to see what's been going on inside for the past six months.
