Success Stories From Our Community
There are Many Ways to Express Philanthropic Desires
Expressions of philanthropy are intensely personal. Moreover, thanks to strategies made possible in large part by tax laws that recognize the benefits of philanthropy, there is more than one way to demonstrate your support for qualified charities.
Since the earliest days in the history of this nation, the support of organizations that strengthen the fabric of our society has been encouraged.
Today, there are tax incentives for those who make gifts of cash or tangible personal property such as stock and real estate. These gifts can reduce the giver’s taxable income. Trust agreements make it possible to bypass capital gain taxes on appreciated assets, to receive a tax deduction, and even to increase income. Alternatively, bequests via the Last Will and Testament offer a way to give lasting voice to important values.

The Hammond-Henry Hospital often hears from patients, family & community members regarding the important role the hospital has played in their lives. It is a testament to this great hospital’s mission of excellence in patient care and services that many choose to give something back in the form of legacy gifts. These gifts are very important to the hospital’s future.
Giving a lasting gift is as simple as using the following language on an IRA, an insurance policy, other beneficiary designation forms. The information can be provided to an attorney for inclusion in a will or living trust.
“I leave (e.g. % of your estate, $ amount, residue) to the Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation, a not-for-profit located in Geneseo, Illinois, to support the Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation.”
