The second floor concrete was poured on Tuesday and Thursday this week. This is the area that will be occupied by our rehab department which houses physical, occupational and speech therapy, along with cardiac rehab. Also, the aquatic therapy pool will occupy the southeast corner of this floor, actually to the right of the picture above.
While the floor is being poured, the roof is being installed on this building. Snow and ice had prevented further work, but the big thaw on December 31 has made this possible. On the first floor of this building, significant plumbing installation is underway. Other utilities will soon follow, with rooms and hallways possibly taking shape later this month.
The long-term care building continues to progress quite well. Partial brick facade installation started last week. Plastic barriers are constructed for a section of the wall, and a window is simply opened to bring the required temperature up accordingly. On the inside ductwork has progressed rapidly over the past three weeks. Some drywall installation has also begun. Rooms and areas have all taken shape.
The endoscopy suite has yet to be completed. Some minor changes have held up its completion which is now scheduled for early February. Once that space is occupied, demolition of the current endoscopy room and minor procedure room can make way for the new third operating room.
