Last week was great on several fronts- the weather allowed for significant work and also made for a successful celebration of our Foundation. Most notable on the construction front was the completion of the concrete south of the future loading dock. This will allow more of the construction vehicles to relocate to this space, freeing up more parking for staff and visitors. Precast concrete was delivered and installed over the tunnel that is beneath the two-story walkway that will eventually hook up with our existing two-story walkway to the north. Metal decking is being installed in the south service building which will accomodate the concrete-poured floors. The long term care building continues to take shape with rooms outlined in metal studs. The roof comes next for that building.
On Sunday we held our annual Foundation recognition event with a wonderful turnout- over 200 people went through the brunch line. The highlight of the day was an opportunity for all donors to sign the final I-beam before it is hoisted this week into place on the south service building. It will serve as a "time capsule" that will hopefully last well into the future.
